Inside the factory

Before a SUKA GILA piece ever meets the water, it passes through a process of intention, precision, and care.

Our swimwear is produced in India by skilled makers experienced in working with stretch fabrics, delicate finishes, and body-conscious silhouettes. Each piece begins with the body in mind — how it moves, how it feels under the sun, how it sits after a swim, and how confidently it carries you from water to land.

From the first sketch to the final fit, every design goes through a considered development process. Silhouettes are sampled, fitted, adjusted, and refined to ensure comfort, support, stretch, and ease of movement. Once approved, patterns are placed thoughtfully, panels are cut with precision, and seams are finished with care to create swimwear that feels sculpted without feeling restricted.

Throughout production, quality is checked at multiple stages — from fabric inspection and cutting accuracy to stitching, measurements, stretch, finish, and final presentation. Each finished piece is reviewed for fit, feel, construction, and detailing before it becomes yours.

Certified Materials, Considered Choices

Our collections are crafted using premium Italian fabrics by Carvico®, selected for their softness, stretch, shape retention, quick-drying comfort, and enduring performance. Where possible, we work with regenerated yarns, including ECONYL®, chosen to bring together luxury, functionality, and a more considered approach to swimwear.

Carvico® holds internationally recognised certifications across textile safety, recycled materials, environmental management, and responsible production practices.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 reflects testing for substances that may be harmful to human health, from yarn to finished product — especially important for pieces worn close to the skin.

GRS — Global Recycled Standard helps verify recycled materials through the supply chain, supporting transparency around recycled content, environmental practices, social criteria, and chemical use.

ISO 14001 relates to environmental management systems, reflecting a structured approach to monitoring and improving environmental responsibility over time.

Higg FEM and Higg FSLM assess facility-level environmental and social practices, including areas such as energy, water, waste, chemical management, working conditions, health, and safety.

Where selected, our ECONYL® regenerated nylon yarns transform nylon waste into high-quality performance yarns designed for strength, softness, stretch, and lasting wear.

We believe sustainability is not a slogan. It is a series of decisions — choosing better materials where possible, producing with intention, avoiding excess, and creating swimwear that is made to be worn, loved, and carried across seasons.

Sculpted for sun and sea — made with care before it ever meets the water.
